About Me

Diane's current work is in the technique of Iris Folding.  This art form originated in Holland when Dutch crafters discovered the patterns on the inside of envelopes and began layering them over a cut out design, ending with a center focal point, resembling the iris of an eye.  Since Diane loves all things Asian, her passion for detail and the intricate nature of this work, has led her to focus on the kimono image utilizing vintage kimono and obi fabric and origami paper to create her designs.  She has always had a fascination with beautiful paper and fabric and began working with collage after retiring to Southern Oregon.
